Dr. Slaughter is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in treatment of spinal conditions. He has been in practice for over 21 years and his first day with Global will be January 2nd 2023.
Dr. Slaughter became interested in medicine as a lifelong passion whilst in elementary school. He continued the pursuit of helping people while in high school and college. He worked in a nursing home while in high school and in college he worked as a Psychiatric Technician, while attending The Ohio State University he majored in Biochemistry and Mechanical Engineering. He joined the US Army Reserves while enrolled at Ohio State rising to the rank of Sergeant before acceptance into medical school. He attended the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine where he completed his studies in medicine.
Dr. Slaughter completed an internship in general surgery at the Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. This was followed by the completion of an Orthopaedic residency at the same institution. While in training he became interested in the care of patients with spinal disorders. He, therefore, pursued further specialty training in spinal reconstruction under the tutelage of Dr. Michael Neuwirth MD, at The Beth Israel Spine Institute in New York City.
Dr. Slaughter joined the staff of Sonoran Spine Center in Phoenix, Arizona upon completion of his training. There he developed an interest in minimally invasive spinal reconstructive techniques. He became a pioneer in spinal reconstructive and minimally invasive techniques. He has personally taught surgeons across the southwest and other areas of the country these minimally invasive and reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Slaughter’s dedication to treating patients with the most effective and least invasive method possible to relieve the condition; has led him to become one of the nation’s leading spinal surgeons. In his free time, he enjoys movies, travel, and exercise.
